The first thing one noticed upon entering Edgartown was the big banner (pictured left) strung across Main St welcoming visitors to Amity Island. Unfortunately by the time I arrived at Memorial Wharf all the festivities were over so I decided to take a quick stroll around and see what was happening.
Joe Alves was giving a JAWS Anamatics Presentation at the Old Whaling Church so I headed up Main St in that direction.
It didn't take long before I noticed all the original Amity Signs that were proudly being displayed around town.
The most notable signs were the 'Amity National Bank' sign (pictured right) and the 'Amity Town Hall' sign (pictured below). The Bank actually had a photo-op from 10 - 2, where you could get a FREE 4 x 6 picture in front of the Sign. I opted to skip that and continued on my way.
uttered his now famous line "I'll find 'em for three, but I'll catch him and kill 'em for ten!" Town Hall is also the site of several autograph sessions taking place throughout the weekend and I know I'll be back so I continued on.
When I finally made it to the Old Whaling Church Mr. Alves talk was well underway and also pretty packed so I decided to start looking for a familiar face and more importantly a ride back to Oak Bluffs.
I worked my way back towards the harbor where I figured I was most likely to find somebody I knew. Along the way I took in the sites and did see a few friends but no one who was heading back to OB. So I decided before it got to late, to head back to the Island Bus terminal.
As I left Edgartown Harbor on my way to the bus depot I passed down N. Water St. where I noticed the Eisenhauer Gallery. What caught my eye was a JAWS painting on display out front so I went in to take a look and I'm glad I did.
