Friday Continued
It turns out that  Eisenhauer Gallery had on display several original JAWS paintings by Artist Paul McPhee.  They were beautiful but expensive.  I was happy to find later in the day that several shops around the Island were selling T-shirts featuring Paul McPhee's artwork.   I was able to buy one with the "Amity Island Montage" on it (see below) but I saw several others including one with "Roy v. Bruce" on it (pictured above).  Besides the T-shirts I also found a shop in Vineyard Haven selling smaller prints for a reasonable price.
After checking out the paintings I had to hustle to catch the bus in order to make it back to Oak Bluffs.  I made it though and was soon on my way to OB.

The bus ride wasn't that bad.  It actually passed by Sengekontacket Pond and the bridge that is the location for the infamous "Shark in the Pond" scene from JAWS.  There were tour buses stopped there with JAWSfest visitors taking pictures.
Finally back in OB I grabbed a couple of slices of Pizza and headed to the  Tabernacle where Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb were scheduled to present the keynote address to the JAWSfest audience at 1:30 PM.  Luckily I made it to this event with plenty of time.  I also met up with Greg, Aidan and Anne there, which was my main purpose for being on Island.
We watched Peter and Carl's presentation. It was good and although it was mostly centered on JAWS movie moments, Peter did have time to make a case for shark awareness and conservation. Mr. Benchley did look very tired and after some Q & A time the presentation was over.

At that point I went back to Greg's office, picked up some data and dropped off a DVD of our white shark footage from last fall.
It was now late afternoon and I had to catch the 5:00 PM ferry back to Woods Hole.  Greg offered me a ride to Vineyard Haven and since we had some time to spare we stopped by the 'JAWS Behind the Screams' exhibit at the Grange in West Tisbury.  It featured many original photos and props from JAWS and I've dedicated a separate web-page to it.
