The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries Shark Research Program is interested in any and all shark and ray sightings that fishermen, boaters and bathers may witness in or adjacent to state waters. If you see or catch a species of shark or ray please try to collect, to the best of your ability, the following information:
Date, Time and Location of the sighting;
Species of Shark if it can be determined;
Length, Weight and Sex of the shark if it is available or can be estimated;
Comments on anything important or unusual about the sighting
Please use the form below to submit your sighting. Be sure to include your Name and Contact Information. If pictures or video are available please indicate this and a biologist will contact you. If you have digital pictures they can be submitted to john.chisholm@state.ma.us
